FaceSpan is an AppleScript-centric
Rapid Application Development (RAD) tool for Mac OS X. It is the
perfect tool for wrapping a Mac OS X Aqua user interface around
an AppleScript workflow. If your script needs more than AppleScript's
display dialog or choose from list commands, FaceSpan is the ideal
tool. It allows you to quickly and easily create windows, panels,
sheets and menus for your application. FaceSpan provides a rich
palette of user interface widgets (buttons, checkboxes, radio buttons
and tables).

Unlike tools such as Apple's AppleScript Studio, FaceSpan
provides all this capability in a single unified application designed
from the ground up for AppleScript users. No need to master Xcode
and InterfaceBuilder.
FaceSpan leverages the power of the AppleScript Studio scripting
interface. If you have experience programming AppleScript Studio,
you'll be right at home with FaceSpan. However, FaceSpan improves
on AppleScript Studio by providing a fully object-oriented project
structure where scripts are associated with each user interface
element (buttons, windows, etc.). This results in smaller and
easier to manage scripts.
Looking Forward
The bug fixes that we anticipated when we aquired
FaceSpan 4.2 from Digital Technology International (DTI) in the
summer of
2005,
have now been implemented in version 4.3,
which we are are pleased to make available. This is a free update
for FaceSpan 4 users. We are now
focused on
the next major release – FaceSpan
5.0, scheduled for 2008. |
